Job Summary
Full-time Clinical Nurse Educator role (0.5 FTE educator + 0.5 FTE RN staffing) in 2L Med-Surg/Stroke/Tele at Evanston, IL. Responsibilities include direct patient care, precepting new nurses, onboarding and staff development, designing and delivering education programs, mentoring preceptors, promoting evidence-based practice, collaborating with nurse managers and coordinators on education and performance needs, driving unit safety and quality outcomes, and supporting transitions to practice. Requires nursing qualification with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), 3-5 years clinical nursing experience, EMR proficiency, strong communication and teaching skills, and travel within the NorthShore system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required)
- Masters Degree Nursing (preferred)
- 3-5 years of nursing experience in a clinical practice setting
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Proficiency in setting up virtual meetings and AV materials for presentations
- Ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Presentation skills for nursing education
- Ability to conduct literature searches for best practices
- Willingness to attend educational seminars and conferences
- Preceptor program completion and experience as a preceptor
- Experience as a champion and/or council participation
- Travel to hospitals within the NorthShore system as needed
