Job Summary
A senior Clinical Nurse in the Coronary Care Unit, acting as a senior clinical resource, team leader and professional role model. Provides advanced, evidence-based nursing care for critically ill cardiac patients, coordinates patient flow, delegates tasks, mentors junior staff and students, and contributes to quality improvement, clinical audits and accreditation. Requires current AHPRA registration, 3+ years post-graduate critical care experience, post-graduate Cardiac Care qualification, and leadership in shift coordination with a focus on professional development and adherence to NMBA/Ramsay standards. Flexible roster including mornings, afternoons and weekends; role emphasizes leadership, clinical excellence, documentation, and collaboration with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (essential)
- Minimum Three Plus (3+) years' post-graduate nursing experience in a critical care/acute medical setting (essential)
- Post-graduate qualification in Cardiac Care (essential)
- Demonstrated clinical leadership ability, including shift coordination and team support
- A commitment to mentoring junior staff and contributing to a positive, learning-focused team culture
- Sound knowledge of and participation in quality improvement processes
- Strong time management, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high standard of customer-focused service
- Knowledge of legislation, standards and policies relevant to nursing practice in Australia
