Job Summary
Clinical Nurse Coordinator Ortho Trauma at Mission Health leads and coordinates patient-centered orthopedic trauma care. Provides direct bedside nursing care while acting as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff; oversees daily patient flow, safe care transitions, and collaborates with physicians, APPs, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team. Supports evidence-based practice, assists with care planning and complex clinical decision-making, and evaluates outcomes for post-surgical orthopedic and trauma patients. Champions best practices in pain management, wound care, mobility and rehabilitation planning, discharge planning, and patient/family education. Partners with unit leadership on staff scheduling, precepting/mentoring new nurses, reinforcing policies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and quality standards. Participates in performance improvement initiatives, safety and quality projects, and unit-based councils to improve patient experience and clinical outcomes. Requires strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple patients and tasks in a dynamic setting. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, organized RN with acute care experience in orthopedic/trauma/surgical settings, proficient with electronic health records, coordinating multidisciplinary rounds, and supporting families through the continuum of care.
