Job Summary
Clinical Nurse Coordinator in a Free Standing ER combines direct bedside emergency nursing with leadership responsibilities. Leads daily shift activities, coordinates patient assignments and staffing, supports rapid response and resuscitation efforts, and promotes adherence to evidence-based guidelines and safety standards. Collaborates with physicians, APPs, nurses, and staff to optimize patient throughput, triage, treatment, and disposition while contributing to orientation, mentoring, interdisciplinary rounds, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and quality outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with active state license
- Clinical leadership/coordination experience in emergency or front-line patient care
- Ability to manage patient flow, triage, and disposition in a high-acuity setting
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and de-escalation skills
- Collaboration with physicians, APPs, nurses, and ancillary staff
- Commitment to regulatory, quality, and safety standards
- Orientation and mentoring of new staff
- Participation in performance improvement and policy guideline implementation
