Job Summary
Prioritize, coordinate, and document direct and indirect age-specific, developmentally appropriate patient-centered care while performing the nursing process independently. Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff, resolve team conflicts, and participate in shared governance councils to influence bedside clinical practice. Provide compassionate bereavement support, troubleshoot patient care equipment, and manage multiple assignments within a skills mix environment. May be required to participate in on-call rotation based on department business needs. Contribute to a culturally diverse workforce to optimize patient outcomes and support LLUCH's Magnet Recognition standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of two years' experience
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Other certifications required as listed in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care
- Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation
- Ability to speak, read and write legibly in English
- Ability to use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program
- Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
- Ability to perform technical patient care activities
- Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others
- Ability to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
- Ability to lead, supervise, teach and collaborate
- Ability to accept direction
- Ability to think critically
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing (for hires prior to April 1, 2020)
- Ability to speak, read and write legibly in Spanish
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation based on department business needs
