Job Summary
Provide, coordinate, and document direct and indirect patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment while performing the nursing process. Directly supervise and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff in a skills mix setting. Apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice, troubleshoot patient care equipment, and manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision. Participate in on-call rotation based on department business needs and may serve as a Shift Coordinator after orientation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of one year experience
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Ability to speak, read and write legibly in English
- Ability to use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program
- Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
- Ability to perform technical patient care activities
- Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others
- Ability to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
- Ability to lead, supervise, teach and collaborate
- Ability to accept direction
- Ability to think critically
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload

- Ability to discern temperature variances through touch

- Ability to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records and written documents necessary for position
- Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation
- Other certifications required as listed in the department-specific Plan for Providing Care
