Educate patients and families on illness management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration. Use critical thinking to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, then develop and implement individual plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team. Evaluate patient responses and modify care plans throughout the stay while participating in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Work in 31-bed telemetry/cardiac, 41-bed med-surg, or 16-bed ortho units with patient-to-nurse ratios of 4-5 to 1. Obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation to remain employed.
