Job Summary
Perform emergent or scheduled urgent apheresis procedures in ambulatory and inpatient settings during on-call hours, including weekends and holidays. Assess patients pre, during, and post therapy to identify complications, notify providers, and escalate care as needed. Independently perform cellular therapy collections and infusions while maintaining chain-of-custody for human tissue products. Ensure equipment preventative maintenance, disinfect surfaces, manage inventory, and accurately document all procedures in Epic. Complete required trainings, competencies, and Standard Operating Procedures reviews while acting as a resource for staff training. Prioritize patient care assignments and adapt to urgent cases in compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
- Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association
- Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
- Oral, listening and written communication skills
- Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations
- Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
