Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, leukapheresis, stem cell harvests, photopheresis, and therapeutic phlebotomies. Conduct venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and manage vortex and Bard ports while assessing patient status and evaluating medication compatibility. Coordinate treatments with physicians and nurses across multiple hospitals and sites, acting as a consultant on clinical apheresis. Assemble, restock, and maintain supplies and equipment to ensure a safe environment. Variable 1st shift Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with rotating on-call duties. Current state RN licensure and CPR certification required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience necessary. Valid driver's license and COVID-19 vaccination mandate apply.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing, OR-related experience
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination status (fully vaccinated or approved exemption process initiated)
