Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, leukapheresis, stem cell harvests, photopheresis, and therapeutic phlebotomies. Assess patient status relative to treatments, coordinate closely with physicians to arrange care, and act as a consultant to external health care personnel. Perform venipunctures, access central venous catheters, and manage supplies and equipment to maintain a safe environment. Variable 1st shift Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with rotating on-call duties. Full COVID-19 vaccination required.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- COVID-19 vaccination
Desired Qualifications
- Previous apheresis or dialysis experience
