Job Summary
Delivers proficient nursing care to patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex, critically analyzing trends in patient status and planning appropriate interventions. Collaborates with nurse leaders to develop standards of care, documents individualized plans of care, and serves as a patient advocate by communicating clinical concerns to the health care team. Coordinates delivery of care for patients with complex nursing needs, utilizing the Contemporary Primary Nursing Model and Interdisciplinary Model of Care to optimize outcomes. Provides input to orientation programs, conducts individual orientations for new staff, and evaluates formal unit-based in-service education programs. Assesses patient care needs, establishes priorities, delegates tasks to peers and ancillary support staff, and participates in unit-based committees and quality assurance audits. Promotes the standards of Pathway to Excellence through daily practice.
Required Qualifications
