Job Summary
Clinical Mental Health Internship role in Elizabeth, NJ providing weekly therapeutic services to children ages 4-21 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Internship involves 1:1 direct behavior analysis services in home and community settings, shadowing IIC and BA cases, delivering individual and small group therapy, and assisting in development and implementation of BA treatment plans. Responsibilities include data collection, crisis prevention/intervention, psychoeducation for families, and collaboration with supervising therapists. 2–20 hours per week, flexible scheduling, unpaid internship with opportunities for shadowing and professional mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program for Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology or related field
- Completed Practicum or enrolled in an internship for a Master’s Degree Program in one of the above fields of study
- Have at least 2 years experience in behavioral healthcare or related field and has experience working directly with individuals who have behavioral issues (maladaptive behaviors), developmental/intellectual disabilities, or mental illness
- Has knowledge of Behavioral Interventions and some clinical training
- Valid NJ Driver’s license and proof of car insurance
- Valid Social Security Number or work authorization
- Must consent to and pass complete State/Federal Criminal Background Checks

- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Creole)
