Job Summary
Perform and interpret routine and specialized laboratory testing in hematology; include phlebotomy when appropriate; ensure QA/QC, instrument maintenance, regulatory compliance, safety and patient privacy; requires CLT/CLS licensure and certification within specified timelines; education may be associate degree or military MLT certificate with transcript copy; Bachelor’s degree preferred; position located in Shreveport, LA area; remote work restricted by state exclusions.
Required Qualifications
- Current Clinical Lab Scientist license (generalist or specialist) in the state of practice or Trainee permit or Lab Assistant license and must obtain license within 90 days
- ASCP, AMT or AAB certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist within 90 days of hire
- ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as Medical Lab Technician within 90 days of hire
- Minimum Education Required - Associate's Degree/College Diploma in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science OR military MLT certificate
- Copy of Transcript
- Preferred Education Required - Bachelor's in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science
- Minimum Work Experience Preferred - Hospital or Clinical Laboratory Testing experience
- Knowledge/Skills: computer skills, Windows applications, strong communication, analytical/problem-solving, good judgement, interpersonal skills
- Compliance: regulatory, accreditation standards, safety guidelines, OIG requirements, privacy
