Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Summary
Receives and prepares specimens; performs laboratory tests and calculations to support diagnosis and treatment; conducts quality control and evaluates test performance; calibrates and maintains analytical equipment; performs phlebotomy as appropriate; maintains patient data confidentiality. Requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science; current license (if applicable); certification such as ASCP/AMT/AAB; proficiency with data entry and Windows applications; strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to adhere to regulatory/accreditation standards; willingness to work in a hospital laboratory environment with potential travel between facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science
- Current license in the state of practice (if applicable)
- ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist OR ASCP categorical or AAB individual discipline certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist AND Certification Maintenance Program
