Job Summary
Performs, develops and interprets routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently without error, within established time frames. Performs quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting, calibrates and monitors equipment, analyzes and records results, and ensures accuracy and precision. Maintains compliance with regulatory standards, participates in performance improvement, manages supply and reagent inventory, and communicates findings effectively. Requires proficiency with computer systems and Windows applications, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good interpersonal and written communication abilities. Flexibility to support a 24/7 healthcare environment and travel between facilities as needed. The role is within a hospital laboratory setting and involves handling specimens and potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science
- Copy of Transcript
- Current license in the state of practice (if applicable)
- ASCP, AMT or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (and ASCP Certification Maintenance Program if certified after Jan 1, 2004)
