Job Summary
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and medical assessments for clients in Behavioral Health programs. Provide clinical supervision to staff, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and collaborate with agencies to ensure quality outcomes. Evaluate clients for hospitalization needs, maintain compliant records, and assist in policy formulation and crisis resolution. Perform advanced nursing practice in accordance with state and federal regulations while supporting client treatment plans and community education initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- License and current registration to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State
- Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner within one year in role
- DEA license
- Valid driver's license
- Master's Degree of Science in Nursing, or other graduate degree from a nurse practitioner educational program registered by the New York State Education Department as qualifying for NP licensure
- Master's Degree Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or any other specialized PMHNP degree
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience in treating clients in a behavioral health setting
- Minimum of one years' experience in a substance use treatment setting, evaluating patients with substance use disorders & prescribing medications for addiction treatment
- Familiarity with OASAS regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer literacy, including use of electronic systems for clinical record keeping
