Job Summary
Deliver safe, effective, direct, and indirect patient-family centered care while functioning as a resource for Clinical Coordinators and staff. Provide education, training, competency validation, and performance reviews for nursing staff, assuming responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care on specified units. Make decisions regarding patient care activities and oversee the department budget and staff management. Maintain current Texas Registered Nurse licensure, American Heart Association Basic Life Support, and Advance Cardiac Life Support certification. OakBend Medical Center is an independent hospital providing exceptional care since 1950, operating three hospitals and specialty centers including a No Wait ER and trauma center.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience, education and training
- Minimum of 3 years nursing practice in an Acute Care setting
- Minimum of 2 years nursing management
- Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Computer skills
- Basic finance knowledge
- Basic typing skills
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Acute Care setting
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Financial competence
- Sound management abilities
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others
- Ability to resolve complex issues through utilization of appropriate communication techniques
- High energy, outgoing, and self-starter
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience, education and training
- Minimum of 3 years nursing practice in an Acute Care setting highly preferred
- Advance Cardiac Life Support preferred
