Job Summary
Oversee daily surgical schedules, patient flow, and Operating Room workflow to maximize efficiency and safety. Provide leadership and supervision to nursing and clinical support staff while coordinating staffing assignments and assisting with recruitment and onboarding. Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage, OSHA, CDC guidelines, and accreditation standards by monitoring clinical documentation and investigating safety incidents. Participate in direct patient care, including circulating in the Operating Room as needed, and collaborate with physicians and anesthesia providers to optimize throughput. Lead Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement activities to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and infection prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Operating Room nursing experience
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience coordinating OR workflow, staffing, and daily surgical operations
- Knowledge of CMS, AAAHC, Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, and infection prevention standards
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Ability to coordinate Operating Room workflow and optimize patient throughput
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to assist with patient positioning and transfers
- Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to safely perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- PALS certification
- Previous ambulatory surgery center experience
