Clinical Manager - Behavioral Health

Job Summary
Provide clinical supervision, oversight, and consultation to a team of therapists and interns while assisting the Clinical Director with program planning and integrated care practices. Review and approve assessments and service plans, train staff on best practices and trauma-informed care, and monitor staffing levels and forecast needs. Coordinate therapy referrals, manage balanced caseloads, and conduct quarterly clinical documentation audits to ensure production, timeliness, and clinical effectiveness. Offer crisis interventions and clinical recommendations at Adult Recovery Team and Child and Family Team meetings, resolve complaints, and coordinate service denials with the Medical Director. Document all services accurately in electronic medical records and conduct community visits to sites, facilities, and homes as applicable. Available for after-hours, on-call, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a field related or similar to behavioral health
- independent level licensure in clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling
- completed the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners' approved clinical supervisor training or be eligible to complete the training within 60 days of hire
- training and knowledge in behavioral intervention techniques
- current CPR, First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications
- valid Arizona state fingerprint clearance card
- valid Arizona driver's license
- at least 21 years of age
- thorough understanding of parenting dynamics and child development issues
- knowledge of trauma informed care principles, as well as evidence-based practices for working with children
- knowledge of the spectrum of mental illnesses, current DSM-5 and ICD-10 codes and descriptions, psychotropic medications, and crisis intervention
- detailed understanding of community resources, eligibility, and entitlement funding sources
- ability to function as a member of a clinical treatment team in a managed care environment
- ability to maintain excellent member and family relationships and provide excellent customer service
- effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- knowledge of and experience with administrative operations, processes and procedures involving leadership, supervision and employee professional development
- ability to follow direction, use sound judgment, solve problems, manage time, identify priorities, and stay organized
- ability to work independently and under pressure, as well as manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- competence in the use of electronic medical records software
- proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- ability to effectively use the internet and various web browsers
- registered and reliable vehicle that meets Arizona state law standards and meet the insurance standards of Southwest Network
- ability to move about
- ability to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- ability to position self to reach items under or above desks, in storage, or in areas not easily accessible

Desired Qualifications
- knowledge of community based behavioral health services
- thorough knowledge of the Maricopa County behavioral health system
- Preferred typing skills of 25 to 40 WPM
- Occasional use of fax machines, security systems, and other office equipment
