Clinical Leadership Trainer

Job Summary

Develop and maintain a comprehensive training program for clinical leaders across Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan by collaborating with senior leadership to create effective development plans. Work onsite with regional clinical leadership to ensure they meet organizational, regulatory, and management requirements before leading independently, while conducting weekly remote meetings with new leaders to track progress. Provide performance improvement assistance and additional training as needed, ensuring full compliance with CHAP and Medicare hospice standards. Requires current RN license, three years of hospice experience, and three years of clinical staff leadership experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Associate degree required
  • At least three years of hospice experience required
  • At least three years of clinical staff leadership experience including training and development required
  • Ability to pass DHS background study
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Automobile in good working order
  • Automobile insurance in accordance with state and organizational requirements
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to evaluate staff and create individual development plans required
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and basic math skills required
  • Has a thorough understanding of all CHAP and Medicare requirements for hospice
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize, while managing competing priorities, required
  • Ability to effectively comprehend and utilize an electronic health record required
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and concisely document training plans within established timeframes
  • Ability to demonstrate ongoing competence in nursing skills per St. Croix Hospice competency checklist required
  • Self-directing with the ability to exercise independent judgment and work with little direct supervision
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Able to read, speak, and write English in a clear and concise manner required
  • Understands hospice philosophy, secure with issues of death/dying
  • Comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill
  • Displays empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired
  • Provides a calm demeanor when communicating with patients and caregivers

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
