Job Summary
Assist the Department Head in improving patient care quality by managing, coordinating, and monitoring resources to achieve optimal clinical and financial outcomes. Plan, direct, and supervise the overall operation of the assigned ICU/CCU and Stepdown nursing unit on a 24-hour basis while serving as a clinical resource and educator to unit and department staff. Conduct unit conferences to discuss quality issues, develop new clinical pathways, and monitor patient progress on current protocols. Follow up on patient complaints, investigate nursing referrals, and implement action plans based on Quality Management reviews. Document results of patient assessments, nursing diagnoses, and care plan interventions in Medical Records. This role supports a multidisciplinary approach within CentraState's Magnet®-recognized nursing excellence team, focusing on evidence-based practice and culturally sensitive care from pre-admission through post-discharge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Master's degree in Nursing or must be obtained within 3 years from date of hire (or internal transfer) as a condition of employment
- A minimum of two years experience in ICU/CCU as an RN
- Current NJ RN License
- BLS & ACLS Certification
- Completion of the specialty specific pharmacology test
- Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team
