Job Summary
Lead and oversee the assessment, planning, and delivery of mental health care within a prison setting while providing clinical and managerial supervision to nursing staff. Manage complex cases and support risk assessment processes including ACCT/CPA, ensuring compliance with NMC standards and clinical governance requirements. Promote recovery-focused, person-centred care through collaborative work with prison staff, psychiatrists, and external agencies, while maintaining accurate electronic patient records. Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC Registered)
- Degree in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent
- Significant post-registration experience (Band 6 or equivalent)
- Experience providing clinical supervision and leadership
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance and risk management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a secure environment
Desired Qualifications
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (desirable or willingness to undertake)
