Job Summary
Establish and monitor department quality control policies, ensuring documentation of all instrument calibrations, maintenance, and supply stocking. Correlate laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria while addressing safety and psychological needs. Implement service priorities and workflow patterns to assure prompt, efficient delivery of services in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, or Serology. Evaluate departmental performance and recommend measures to improve service quality and current methodologies. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure, and competency in major laboratory sections. Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school
- Licensed under the NYS Dept. of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Good oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, blood ban, and/or microbiology
- Hospital experience
