Job Summary
Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee for Parasitology in Burlington, NC. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex procedures per SOPs, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical decisions regarding testing, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting accurate results to support quality patient care, performing maintenance and quality control, replenishing supplies, assisting with specimen processing, and maintaining a safe work environment with proper PPE. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology, with preferred ASCP or AMT certification and prior clinical lab experience; new grads are welcome with full training provided. Ability to work in a team, proficient computer skills, familiarity with LIS, attention to detail, and flexibility for overtime are valued. The position is full-time, on-site in Burlington, NC, with standard daytime hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Demonstrated understanding of laboratory operations and policies
- Attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle physical requirements and pass color vision test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed
