Job Summary
Conduct high-complexity clinical testing on patient specimens across biochemical, blood bank, hematology, microbiology, and urinalysis disciplines while maintaining daily quality control and instrument calibration. Utilize the Laboratory Information System to document results in strict compliance with NYSDOH regulations and immediately communicate critical test values to physicians and nursing units. Rotate through multiple specialties to maintain an expansive skillset, assist with phlebotomy and specimen processing, and mentor incoming technical staff on standard operating procedures. This role supports the diagnostic lab within Glens Falls Hospital, an ANCC Magnet Recognized institution, where you will evaluate emerging methodologies and supervise clinical support team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technology, or a BS in a biological, chemical, or physical science that meets the NYSDOH Part 58 educational requirements
- Active, valid license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED)
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) registration or equivalent national certification
