Job Summary
Conduct high-complexity clinical testing on patient specimens across biochemical, blood bank, hematology, microbiology, and urinalysis disciplines while rotating through multiple specialties. Run daily quality control testing, calibrate instrumentation, and document preventive maintenance to guarantee data accuracy. Immediately communicate critical test values to physicians and nursing units, and assist with phlebotomy and specimen processing as needed. Mentor incoming technical staff and evaluate emerging laboratory methodologies within an ANCC Magnet Recognized institution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technology, or a BS in a biological, chemical, or physical science that meets the NYSDOH Part 58 educational requirements
- Active, valid license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED)
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) registration or equivalent national certification
