Job Summary
LabCorp Clinical Laboratory Technologist Trainee in Molecular Oncology at RTP, NC. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability for testing per SOPs, performing routine and complex procedures, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical testing decisions, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting accurate results to support quality patient care, performing preventive maintenance and QC, replenishing supplies, assisting with specimen processing, and maintaining a safe work environment with appropriate PPE. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. New grads welcome with full training; flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed. Proficient computer skills and familiarity with LIS; strong attention to detail and communication; ability to work independently and in a team; ability to pass color blindness test; CLIA-operable knowledge; commitment to accuracy and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred)
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
