Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Molecular at Labcorp in Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability for testing, performing routine and complex procedures per SOP, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical testing decisions, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting accurate test results to support quality patient care, performing preventative maintenance and quality control, replenishing testing supplies, assisting with specimen processing when needed, maintaining a safe work environment with proper PPE, and supporting overtime or other shift needs. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology, ASCP/AMT certification (preferred), and ability to work both independently and in a team with strong attention to detail and computer/LIS proficiency. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High attention to detail and strong communication/organizational skills
- Ability to pass a color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts
