Job Summary
Technologist Trainee in Birmingham, AL conducting routine and complex laboratory procedures, determining specimen acceptability, calibrating and troubleshooting instrumentation, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting test results, performing preventative maintenance and quality control, and ensuring safe work practices. Emphasis on accuracy, technical decision-making, ability to work both independently and within a team, and adaptability to overtime or other shifts as needed. Training provided for new grads.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- New Grads Welcome Full Training Provided
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
- Proficient with computers; Laboratory information systems familiarity
