Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology

Job Summary
Determine specimen acceptability according to established criteria and perform routine and complex technical procedures per departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality while making technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls, then report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures, identify and replenish testing bench supplies, and assist with specimen processing as needed. Maintain a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Work Wednesdays through Saturday and every other Sunday from 1 AM to 11:30 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Microbiology MT FL License
- Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Minimum Qualifications Microbiology MT FL License
- Minimum Qualifications Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Minimum Qualifications Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
- Minimum Qualifications Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Minimum Qualifications Proficient with computers
- Minimum Qualifications Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Minimum Qualifications High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Minimum Qualifications Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Minimum Qualifications Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Minimum Qualifications Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Work Schedule: Weds to Saturday and every other Sunday 1 AM to 11:30 AM

Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- Preferred Qualifications ASCP or AMT certification
- Preferred Qualifications Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

- Preferred Qualifications Ability to work independently and within a team environment
