Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technologist in Microbiology responsible for determining specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex testing per SOPs, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical testing decisions, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting accurate results for quality patient care, maintaining QC and safety standards, and assisting with specimen processing and supplies in Birmingham, AL. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field, plus 1 year of clinical lab experience or MLS, with ASCP/AMT certification preferred and flexibility for overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Color vision screen
- Ability to work overtime or other shifts as needed
