Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Mass Spec

Job Summary
Determine specimen acceptability according to established criteria and perform routine and complex technical procedures per departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality while making technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls, then report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures, identify and replenish testing bench supplies, and assist with specimen processing as needed. Maintain a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Work Tuesday through Saturday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Minimum Qualifications
- In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Tuesday-Saturday, 2:00pm-10:30pm

Desired Qualifications
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification
