Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technologist role at Labcorp performing routine and complex testing in a high-volume clinical lab. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability, executing procedures per SOP, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical testing decisions, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting accurate results to support patient care, performing preventive maintenance and quality control, replenishing bench supplies, assisting with specimen processing, and maintaining a safe work environment with proper PPE. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related science (or MLS), 1+ year of clinical lab testing experience (or MLS), and familiarity with laboratory information systems; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and flexibility to work the 3x12 hour evening shifts with rotating weekends/holidays are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology OR MLS degree
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Proficient with computers
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
