Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Job Summary
Determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex technical procedures, and operate instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls while reporting accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Document preventative maintenance, quality control procedures, and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Maintain a safe work environment by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and assisting with specimen processing. Work rotating 3-12-hour shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends and holidays included in the schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- OR an MLS degree
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification
