Job Summary
Perform clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and tests to obtain accurate data in accordance with established protocols. Verify laboratory results and prepare products for transfusion while maintaining equipment, reagents, and documentation. Execute quality control processes and proficiency testing as assigned, and maintain a clean, orderly work environment. Direct, review, and verify the work of other personnel, students, and nursing staff as assigned. Maintain licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist per New York State Department of Health regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Qualified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with New York State Department of Health Regulations
- Minimum 1 year experience in standard laboratory methodologies
- Licensure by NYSED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician with full licensure received before expiration of limited/provisional permit
- Limited and/or Provisional Permit granted to individuals that meet the educational requirements for licensure except for the licensing examination which must be taken within two years from the issuance of a limited permit
- Occasional Travel
Desired Qualifications
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other nationally recognized certification
