Job Summary
Conduct clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and tests in accordance with New York State public health law to provide accurate data for patient care. Perform quality control processes, proficiency testing, and equipment maintenance while verifying laboratory results and preparing products for transfusion. Direct, review, and verify work of other clinical laboratory personnel, students, and nursing staff as assigned. Maintain a clean work environment and follow all institution policies. Requires a Bachelor's degree, NYSED licensure, and minimum one year of experience. Pay ranges from $35.33 to $52.99 per hour. Occasional travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Qualified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with New York State Department of Health Regulations
- Minimum 1 year experience in standard laboratory methodologies
- Licensure by NYSED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician with full licensure received before expiration of limited/provisional permit
- Limited and/or Provisional Permit granted to individuals that meet the educational requirements for licensure except for the licensing examination which must be taken within two years from the issuance of a limited permit
- Occasional Travel
Desired Qualifications
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other nationally recognized certification
