Job Summary
Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join the Ascension Sacred Heart Freestanding Emergency Department team in Navarre, FL. This casual/per diem position involves determining specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex laboratory procedures per SOPs, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical decisions regarding testing, preparing and evaluating new reagents or controls, reporting accurate test results to deliver quality patient care, performing preventive maintenance and QC, and assisting with specimen processing while maintaining a safe work environment with appropriate PPE. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science or related field, plus 1+ year of clinical lab testing experience or an MLS degree, and a FL MT license; ASCP or AMT certification is preferred. The position is suitable for individuals who can work independently or in a team, with familiarity in laboratory information systems, strong computer skills, detail orientation, and the ability to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
- FL Medical Technologist (MT) license
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- In lieu of education requirements, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Proficient with computers
- High level of attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
