Job Summary
Determine specimen acceptability and perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation while preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies and assist with specimen processing to maintain a safe work environment. This role supports a high-volume, production-based clinical lab environment within the Free Standing Emergency Department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology 1 or more year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required OR an MLS degree
- Florida State Technologist License
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Proficient with computers
- High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP or AMT certification
