Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Float at LabCorp in Owasso, OK responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex procedures, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical decisions on testing, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting results for quality patient care, maintaining preventive maintenance and QC, replenishing supplies, assisting with specimen processing, and maintaining a safe, PPE-enabled work environment. Requirements emphasize a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology, 1+ year of lab testing experience or MLS, and preferred ASCP/AMT certification; familiarity with lab information systems and strong attention to detail and teamwork are also highlighted. The role operates per diem/as-needed in a high-volume production lab setting at Bartlesville, OK.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Proficient with computers
- High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
