Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Extractions at Labcorp in RTP, NC. Responsible for determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing routine and complex procedures per SOPs, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, and making technical decisions regarding testing. Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls; report accurate test results to support quality patient care; perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control; manage testing supplies; assist with specimen processing; maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures; high attention to detail; strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed
