Perform assays of biological specimens using specific instruments, reagents, and techniques while reviewing and reporting results. Maintain equipment in operating condition through routine preventive maintenance, including start-up and shut-down procedures, and document all actions taken. Execute Quality Control Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures, alerting supervisors to critical results or system deviations that affect test performance. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and treat proficiency test samples in the same manner as patient specimens. Treats proficiency test samples, with respect to receipt and analysis, in the same manner as patients� specimens; performs special test procedure as directed.
