Job Summary
The Clinical Laboratory Technician will perform routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring specimen acceptability for testing. Responsibilities include monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical decisions regarding testing, preparing and evaluating new reagents, reporting test results, performing preventative maintenance, and replenishing testing bench supplies. The role requires a focus on quality patient care, attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should possess an Associate’s degree and be capable of passing a standardized color vision screen.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological science
- Clinical Laboratory Science
- Medical Technology
- a non-traditional Associate’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Previous clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification
