Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technician to join Labcorp in Mobile, AL. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex laboratory procedures per SOPs, operating and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical testing decisions, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting accurate test results to support quality patient care, conducting preventative maintenance and quality control, replenishing testing supplies, assisting with specimen processing, maintaining a safe work environment with PPE, and handling overtime or alternate shifts as needed. Preferred qualifications include 3+ months of clinical lab testing experience, ASCP or AMT certification, and familiarity with laboratory operations and lab information systems. Commitment to high performance in a high-volume lab setting with strong attention to detail and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
Desired Qualifications
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP certification
- AMT certification
- In lieu of education requirements, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies/procedures
- Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Attention to detail and strong communication/organizational skills
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed
