Job Summary
Laboratory Technician (Clinical Laboratory Technician) at Labcorp in Asheville, NC with float coverage in Mars Hill and Hickory, NC. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability for testing, performing routine and complex procedures per SOPs, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical testing decisions, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting accurate test results to support quality patient care, performing preventative maintenance and QC, replenishing supplies, assisting with specimen processing, maintaining a safe work environment with PPE, and flexibility to work overtime or different shifts. Requires an Associate’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology, ASCP or AMT certification, 3+ months of clinical lab experience, color‐blindness testing ability, and ability to work both independently and in a team in a high‐volume laboratory setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- ASCP or AMT certification
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
