Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technician role with Labcorp in Asheville, NC, covering float assignments to Mars Hill and Hickory, NC. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability, performing routine and complex procedures per SOPs, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical testing decisions, preparing and evaluating reagents/controls, reporting results for quality patient care, conducting preventative maintenance and quality control, replenishing supplies, processing specimens when needed, maintaining a safe work environment with PPE, and assisting with various bench tasks. Candidates should hold an Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science or medical technology, possess either ASCP or AMT certification (preferred), have laboratory operations knowledge, be detail-oriented, capable of independent and collaborative work, proficient with computers and laboratory information systems, able to pass a color vision test, and be flexible to overtime or additional shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
- Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment (preferred)
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
