Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technician 2 at UW Medicine’s Harborview Medical Center leads preanalytical/technical workflow for send-out tests, coordinates specimen processing, troubleshoots issues with the Lab Information System and reference labs, and performs CLT 1 duties including phlebotomy and specimen collection. The role supports receiving, packaging, and shipping of send-out specimens, maintains supplies for specialized tests, builds relationships with referral laboratories, and ensures accurate documentation of results and billing. Requires high school graduation and two years of chemical/clinical/public health lab experience, with MA-P certification (or within 180 days). Day shift with Tuesday–Saturday schedule (0600–1430) including weekends/holidays; 100% FTE.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent
- two (2) years of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience
- Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification with the Washington State Department of Health OR obtain the MA-P certification within 180 days of start date
