Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Technician I with the Molecular Microbiology Team at the Renton Central Laboratory. Performs simple and qualitative clinical laboratory tests, prepares specimens for testing, and logs in specimens. Orders and receives lab supplies, maintains inventory, and cleans/refrigerates equipment. Prepares master mixes for PCR and quality controls, aliquots bulk reagents, and uses the laboratory information system (LIS) and Molecular database (MAD) to enter data and print worksheets. Maintains knowledge of quality control requirements and follows policies to validate results. Works independently to manage workloads and seeks assistance when needed. Interacts with health care providers professionally and assists with evaluating new tests/equipment and research projects. Trains new employees and students in routine procedures. Maintains a clean work area and performs other duties to support the clinical laboratory. 100% FTE, Monday–Friday Day shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent AND one (1) year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience OR Completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
