Job Summary
Perform CLIA moderate and high complexity laboratory tests and analyses in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, microbiology, coagulation, serology, and molecular diagnostics. Evaluate specimens for quality, troubleshoot deviations, and maintain competency on automated and non-automated instrumentation. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lab equipment, while statistically evaluating and recording quality control, calibrations, and validations on test assays. Interpret and report laboratory test data to physicians, infection control, and regulatory agencies, ensuring accuracy in the LIS system. Assist in developing QA and QI projects, collect tabulated data, and train new medical technologists and lab assistants. Maintain a Just Culture aligned with organizational values and ensure HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years in a CLIA high complexity lab
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must be HIPAA compliant
