Job Summary
Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and bodily fluids to aid in disease diagnosis, including routine and specialized procedures across Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Microbiology. Interpret test results to identify abnormalities and ensure accuracy for patient care decisions while maintaining quality control and calibrating instruments. Keep detailed records of all tests and input data into laboratory information systems, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and governmental regulations. Requires two years of hospital laboratory experience, a Bachelor's degree, and a valid state license.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of hospital laboratory work experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423)
- Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
Desired Qualifications
- ASCP certification, or equivalent preferred
