Job Summary
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (ESC) within the Blood Bank department providing technical and complex laboratory analyses across multiple areas (Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, etc.), performing quality control, instrument checks, and potentially supervising in the absence of a supervisor. Applies established procedures to support diagnosis and treatment, collaborates with physicians, and may assume lead responsibilities. Requires Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent and California CLS license/ASCP; minimum experience of one year in the field; 40-hour work week at Salinas Valley Health.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License/ASCP required
- Current BLS/Healthcare status preferred
- At least one year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Trainee within last five years
